adverbwordle

What is an adverb? It is a descriptive word which modifies an adjective, verb or other adverb expressing how is it done.

There are adverbs of time, purpose, degree, manner, place, or frequency.

But do you know the correct order when using more than one adverb?

For example here are a few common adverbs:

fast     quick     slow     quietly      noisily    at home     at 8pm        every day       each week

Now how do we describe how we do something when we have more than one adverb?

Here is the correct order:

how      where    when      how much    why

Subject + verb +adverb of: manner place     frequency      time            purpose

Examples:

Subject verb adverb of manner place            frequency              time                  purpose

She        runs              quickly,        outside,        every evening,      before dinner,  for exercise.

He         works            tiredly         in his office every day             from 9am-6pm to earn money.

The dog waits           impatiently by the door every morning     at 7am                to go outside.
